Betting Market
Live Betting Explained
Bet after kick-off with odds that move in real time as the match unfolds.
How this market works
Live betting, also called in-play betting, prices markets continuously during a match. Goals, red cards, injuries and simple time passing all move the numbers, sometimes dramatically within seconds.
The advantage is information: you have watched the first half hour and you know which side is carrying the game. The risk is speed and stream delay. If your feed runs behind live action, the price you are clicking may already be stale. Bet in-play on matches you are watching with the least delay you can manage, and decide before the match what you are looking for.
How in-play prices move
- 0-0 at half time: under 2.5 goals shortens sharply
- Favourite concedes first: their win price can double within a minute
- Red card for the away side: home handicap lines move immediately
Best used for
- Midweek Champions League and Europa League evenings
- Punters watching the match live
- Goals markets after reading the tempo of a game
Watch out
In-play betting is where discipline breaks down fastest. Chasing a losing pre-match bet with live stakes is the quickest way to turn a small loss into a large one.
